2. Collection, Processing and Use of Data

Personal data means any personal or objective information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, your name, your telephone number, your email address, as well as your date and place of birth, provided to us when you register or create an account on our online store website.

2.1 Customer Account

For each customer who registers using the “Registration” function on the website, we create a customer account, i.e. direct access, protected by a password, to their personal details stored by us. By logging into your customer account, you can also see the status of your orders - delivered, being processed and recently dispatched - and manage your personal details and newsletter.

2.1.1 Creating a Customer Account

The following data are essential to the registration process (mandatory data):

  • your email address
  • your password
  • your consent to the processing of your data
  • your preference regarding our newsletter

A delivery address and invoice address are required only if you place an order or if you wish to save this data in your customer account. To process your order, we need your correct details: name and surname, address and payment details. We also require your email address to confirm the receipt of your order and the shipment of your purchased items, and to communicate with you if and when needed. Additionally, we use your email address as your username, which you will need to log into your customer account.

2.1.2 Using a Customer Account

You may use your customer account details to log into our online store website. We will send your data to the website only when you use them to log in. Should the data be transmitted to external services (e.g. our newsletter service provider), this will happen only after we have received your consent, which you will be asked to provide during the registration process.

Until you log out of your customer account using the “Logout” button, you will remain automatically connected. This function allows you to use certain services (e.g. see discounts dedicated to you) without having to keep logging in to your customer account.

2.1.3 Customer Account Data Storage

All the information in your customer account will be stored for maximum 10 years after your last purchase.

In any case, you may request to erase your customer account and the information contained therein by contacting us in writing at the addresses provided (via email or letter).

2.2 Collection, Processing and Use of your Data

We collect, save and process your data to allow you to make purchases on our online store, including the security procedures that follow; to use our services; to administrate and maintain the website; for marketing purposes (see more information in point 2.3 herein); and to prevent crimes and fraud. Your data will be transmitted to third parties only within the limits provided by the law – including to perform contractual obligations and financial operations (sending invoices), for marketing purposes – subject to your consent. For example, in relation to your order, the service providers we avail ourselves of (e.g.: carrier, logistics company, banks) will receive only the data necessary to process the order and carry out their duties. The service providers we work with may use your data only for the purpose of performing their duties and are authorised to handle your data only for the time necessary to provide the service.

2.3 Use of your Data for Advertising Purposes

Other than in relation to your purchases, at Gioielleria Stefano Pivano we use your data for the following purposes: keep improving your purchase experience; communicate with you with regard to your purchases, specific products or marketing offers; to suggest products or services that may interest you.

To this end, we use existing information; for example, confirmation that emails have been received and opened, information on the device you use, your internet connection, your operating system and platform, date and time of your visit, the products you have viewed and the information we receive from you (including information generated or transmitted automatically). We also use your purchase history.

You may object to all or specific methods of using your data for advertising purposes at any time. Simply contact us in writing using the addresses provided in point 1 herein (e.g. via email or letter).
